ATTENTION ALL ANGELINO ATHLETES!
NEW SCHEDULE and IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!!

As you know, I’ve been working on a new schedule for a while now and brainstorming with the other Coaches to come up with what I think is the best one yet!! You’re going to love the new structure of our MOBILITY SERIES classes. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS ATTACHED TO THE END OF THIS EMAIL!  It will really help you understand what the many improvements we have now built into the weekly schedule. I can’t emphasize enough how IMPORTANT stretching & mobility are to your overall fitness and health.  We’ve listened to your feedback and have made the Mobility Series much more compatible to our CrossFit programming.

As a further incentive to you, I will be putting together a mini-contest and AWARD 1ST, 2ND, and 3RD Prizes to the Athletes who complete 40 hours of Mobility Series classes first. I will send out more information on the contest soon. Note that on Wednesdays, we have covered all time periods with Mobility Classes and there are (4) other days during the week for you catch a Mobility class.  I’m looking forward to your feedback about these new classes and how well they tie into our CrossFit programming.

Also, Coach Veronika is starting up a NEW “Olympic Foundations” class (90-minutes) on Fridays at 7:00PM —  Please Read the Class Descriptions of Competition Series for more details on this exciting class and our other Olympic Lifting classes (OLY Lab & OLY WOD) as well as our NEW Cardio WOD class program & description.

This schedule will be in effect for the rest of the Winter and Early Spring; starting Wednesday, February 1st! I plan on having WODIFY fully updated by tonight. Please hold off on any reservations until the new schedule is updated. I will re-evaluate the class schedule in about 3-months or so and determine what (if any) changes, additions or deletions may be needed to give you the very best possible CrossFit, Competition and Mobility Series classes possible.

Friday,​​ Feb.17th — ACF Movie Night — Romantic Comedy & Pot Luck — ​​VOTE FOR MOVIE BY CLICKING HERE. ​Also, think about some cool Pot Luck delicious & “CLEAN” Valentine’s d​inner entrees and/or s​ides to bring — I​’ll bring the “Special” and YUMMY dessert ​- Mmm M​mmm​!!​!

Saturday​,​ March 18th — ACF 1st Annual “Spring Fling In-House Competition” This ​will be a Partner Competition​, Boys vs. Boys and Girls vs.Girls, possibly with 2 to 3 divisions (Scale, Rx, and “Just for Fun”… it all depends on turnout).Each team will consist ​of 2-Boys or 2-Girls — ​I will have the sign-up sheet up at the gym this week so make sure you ​FIND A PARTNER (If you haven’t already!​)​. If you can’t find one, sign-up anyway and I will help put together teams. Start thinking of team name and team “uniform”… You guys NEED to match! — many

Saturday, April 8th — Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing RETURNS!!​ — for Re-Tests AND New Tests. I will have a sign-up sheet as the date get closer.. Just remember that they will be here ​most of the day to accommodate ​as many people as they can.

WHERE IS MY SWEATSHIRT? / WATER BOTTLE? / WRIST STRAPS? / ETC. ETC. (LOST & FOUND)

Please check ALL the cubbies in the Gym (Lost & Found articles) for anything you may have left behind… Many of the items have been there for a loooooooong time!  If you don’t claim it them by ​Tuesday, January 31st, you will probably see some of the Coaches wearing your nice sweater or drinking water from your awesome water bottle!!! ​;-) But seriously, PLEASE take your items back — I will clean ​out the cubbies by Wednesday, February 1st and donate it!

COACH DANIELLE IS LEAVING US AFTER MONDAY!!!!! :’(

Coach Danielle is moving to the East Coast and her last day at Angelino CrossFit will be Monday night! (1/30)  … I’m happy for Danielle — but sad for us… Danielle has been an AWESOME Coach and has really helped bring our Olympic Lifting program to a new high.  Her organizational and leadership skills are terrific and she will succeed for sure in her future endeavors.  Be sure to come by and say Goodbye or maybe just “See Yah Later” (hoping she comes back to visit us from time to time)…. WE LOVE YOU DANIELLE!!!

RESERVE YOUR CLASSES AND SIGN-IN

Many more of you have been reserving your classes on Wodify these days — but there are still a lot of you (for whatever reason) that do not reserve in advance. It’s really easy to do and it really is very  helpful to the coaches when you do.  Some of you aren’t sure you’re going to make it… you can easily cancel before the class with your smartphone — so go ahead and reserve it. You can sign-in to class from your smartphone before you get to the gym or at the gym…. Please ask your coach if you are not sure how to reserve and sign in to class.

GYM CLEAN-UP & EQUIPMENT

In order to keep the gym as clean as possible, please remember to clean up after yourselves at the end of each class. This includes wiping down all equipment and putting it back, sweat spots and chalk markings on the floor and walls. ALSO, a reminder that as we phase out the old equipment and get new ones in, we want to make sure that we handle all equipment with care. For example, please watch the way you drop your weights because the plates can break even though the “bumper” plates or make holes on the walls… or worse, it can hit someone!!! Also don’t pull on the wall ball straps because they tend to rip easily. You may also want to start bringing your own jump rope to class especially if you attend class often. Thank You!!
